The BC Public Service Agency (PSA) is committed to reconciliation by making lasting change through tangible actions.

To help prepare individuals for increased involvement with Indigenous businesses and communities in the government’s procurement process all staff responsible for procurement activities, including purchasing and contract management are required to complete this course.

BCIR is a two-hour interactive online course that provides learners with an understanding of the provincial government’s commitments to reconciliation, explores Indigenous culture, our shared history, and what steps can be taken, collectively and individually, to pursue reconciliation.

The goal of the course is to foster and nurture respect, understanding, and cooperation between all Canadians. The course is split into 6 ordered sections:

  1. Building Capacity in Indigenous Relations
  2. Indigenous Peoples’ Identities & Demography
  3. Understanding the Indigenous Experience
  4. Beginning our Shared Path
  5. Where Do We Go from Here?
  6. Moving Forward on a Shared Path
