In this episode of CorrTalk, Peter and Sarah sit down to chat with former Warden, Debbie Hawboldt. Debbie’s career with the Adult Custody Division spanned 33 years, and recently, she has returned from retirement to support training development for the Segregation Reform Project.
Debbie reflects on the things that have and have not changed in the division since joining as a Security Officer in 1982. She talks about navigating challenging times in her career, the beliefs that kept her engaged, and the lessons that she learned from organizational changes. Debbie shares her experience of leadership as an introvert, the importance of self awareness, and learning to appreciate the complexity and history of people.
